HOW TO MOVE APPLICATIONS TO SD CARD FOR NON ROOTED ANDROID LOLLIPOP USERS

With the update to Android Lollipop, Google allowed new applications to move on SD card without root. You can certainly do it from your phone settings but it takes longer. However, with the application AppMgr III, the operation becomes much simpler.

HOW TO MOVE APPLICATIONS TO SD CARD

You can refer to this article for more options to move apps to your SD card: How To Move Android Applications To Your SD Card

To start, download AppMgr III on your smartphone by clicking the link below.

Once the application is installed, start the app. AppMgr III will then assess the number of applications that will be possible to move to SD card of your phone and offer you a feature to empty the apps cache. just accept it, it will be something of gain.

The interface is divided into three tabs: a part for movable applications, another one for those that have already been moved to SD card, and the last one for those in the internal memory of your phone.

Simply click on an application to get the option to move it to SD card. But a better move would be to plan migration of many applications at once. All you have to do is:

  • Open the top right menu
  • You can select or drop the applications you want to move. If you want to move all you can select "Move all" on the small menu at the side.

A confirmation window will then open up with a list of warnings that you can safely ignore, click the Proceed to move button. You will then be redirected to your phone settings to confirm a final operation.

The applications will be moved one by one and the operation can be quite long if you have a lot to move. Note that whenever you install a new application on your phone, AppMgr III will tell you if it is movable or not.

HOW TO MOVE ANDROID APPLICATIONS TO YOUR SD CARD

Thanks to our precious Play Store, the system can quickly acquire the list of available applications, but in doing so, we find ourselves quickly cramped on the internal storage of the unit. Yet there is a solution if you have an SD card slot.

While our computers are capable of storing terabytes of data, mobile devices often embark about 32 GB of space (and up to 128 GB sometimes) but sometimes much less. And considering that this space is well crowded by the system and native applications data, what remains is not much to install all your favorite apps.

Recognizing this issue, that is widely observed on many today's low built-in storage smartphones, we have decided to write you this tutorial on how to save storage space on your device by moving your applications to your micro SD card and thus save internal memory.

For non rooted Android Lollipop users, refer to this article to know how to move apps to your SD cards: How To Move Applications T SD Card For Non Rooted Android Lollipop Users

How to move apps to SD cards

While many methods exist that  allow you to set your SD card as the destination for all your apps, we will choose a method which is more "modern", and it's within reach of everyone. There will be no need to go through Unix commands in a shell, or walk through some complex tweaks.

To do it, you need to download Folder Mount application from Play Store:

Get it on Google Play Store

To use Folder Mount , you must be Root (Towelroot can do the trick) and with the free version, it is not possible to manage more than three applications simultaneously. This limitation can be stepped out by acquiring a full license of the application.

Launch the application and grant it superuser (root) privileges. Once on the interface, a menu is on the left, let's start through the Apps Analyzer.

This will load the list of applications on your smartphone or tablet:

For example, I chose the application MC3. Just press and get to this page. We can see thus that the data or obb (depends on the application) size it occupies :

Choose what you want to copy by pressing the "Create a pair" button. About the question that arises "Do you want the destination folder to be created automatically ? ", Say "Yes" to permit it or "No" if you want to specify it yourself . For my part, I chose "Yes".

You just have to press the "V" shaped symbol  and answer "Yes" to the question that pops up to you "Do you want to move files to the destination ? ". The application is then copied to the external SD card and may take a few minutes if the application happens to be heavy (I think including video games).

Once finished, simply go down through the whole earlier menu in the "Pairs List" and you will find the application that was just copied to your memory card. By pressing it, the small symbol in the form of a hairpin turns green, and your application will eventually be stored on the SD card. By connecting it to the computer, you can see for yourself that Folder Mount has copied the application to the memory card:

This pair system is useful for the application of internal memory copied to the external card, but the purpose of this tutorial is to make room in internal storage and store everything on the memory card. After that just clean your internal memory to delete what you have copied to your SD card. This solution is more convenient and allows a good control over what is moved externally, and what you want or need to spare on the internal memory.

If this process went well, use your applications, their data placed externally should be accessible and everything should work fine, with some exceptions that might be rose of some apps that won't work elsewhere than internal storage.

Conclusion

This tutorial is over, and you have what it takes -although this is not the only way out- to save space on the internal storage of your precious phone,  and to store your preferred applications on your micro SD card. The methods, as you have noticed, seem rather quick once everything is in its place but we had to explain the process.

Be careful not to forget that some applications do not fully or partially work if they are no longer on the internal memory. Also, prefer to keep on the internal memory only system applications, or if necessary, delete the ones you do not use.

GREAT WAYS TO EARN REAL CASH AND REWARDS THROUGH APPS

When most people think about apps and money, they think about spending money. Whether by actually paying for apps or by buying 'freemium' content from free apps, the general direction of cash flow is from the app consumer to the developer.

That is not the only way it has to be, however. In fact, there are plenty of apps that allow the user to make money, simply by using the app itself. While these may never be a way to generate a full time income, who wouldn't want to earn some cold hard cash, or rewards like coupons or gift cards, just by downloading a few apps to their smartphone or tablet?

Some of the most reliable cash apps are those that focus on promoting apps. Some apps, such as App Trailers, have you assessing app marketing techniques and offering user feedback on what is working and what isn't. Other systems have you download the actual demo app itself and get paid for providing valuable information about the user experience.

Other real-cash apps ask you to perform some kind of valuable, real life service for the company for which you are then well-rewarded. These apps, such as Easy Shift, GigWalk, and Field Agent have you go around town fulfilling information gathering tasks. These are often relatively easy things, from taking a photo of the price of cookies at your local grocery store to scanning all the QR codes on local concert posters. Every time you complete a task, you get paid.

As was mentioned earlier, these apps are not going to the way to escape the rat race and become independently wealthy. They rarely offer more than a few cents per task, no matter what you do, and making more than a few dollars an hour is something extremely rare. That being said, for those with some spare time, especially those people between jobs, these real cash apps can be a great way of supplementing your income, and having a good time doing it.

WINDOWS 10: IT WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON USB FLASH DRIVE, A FIRST!

Before approximately a month from the launch of Windows 10, details about the next Microsoft OS are becoming more accurate. While we could discover in a while ago the official desktop background of Windows 10, we know now the mode of distribution of this operating system. For the first time ever, Windows 10 will be distributed on a USB flash drive.

The information does not officially come from Microsoft but several trustworthy sources claim that Windows 10 will be delivered on USB flash drive. The first source is the American journalist Paul Thurrott who is a Microsoft specialist that posted on Twitter last week: "In fact, it seems that Microsoft will sell Windows 10 on a USB in stores". Paul Thurrott has often made revelations about Microsoft that proved accurate.

The second source is an American retailer that has referenced in advance two products called "Windows 10 Home USB Flash Drive " and "Windows 10 Professional USB Flash Drive."

For the first time in its history, Windows released is going to come on a USB flash drive. But when you think about it, this seems quite logical for two reasons. First, CD players are increasingly rare on modern computers.

Second, even if Windows 10 is available online for download, everyone is not necessarily a fund of downloads. If the younger generations are more comfortable with online purchase method, the older ones still prefer to go through the market checkbox. And others around the world have no other choice then, since their connection to the internet is not sufficient to download the OS in a reasonable time.

By choosing a USB flash drive, Microsoft will have made the choice to reach a larger number of customers. It must be said that the stakes are extremely substantial for the Redmond company -Microsoft-, it have bet largely on its new OS Windows 10 and any failure would be a real disaster.

iOS 9: SUMMARY OF THE MAIN NEW FEATURES TO RIVAL THE UPCOMING ANDROID M

Monday, 8th June at 7pm, Apple held its release conference of the WWDC 2015. It is a very important appointment every year for fans of the brand but also for the high-tech world, Apple revealed its outline on the software side for the rest of the year.

The program they introduced the new Apple Music, the new version of watchOS, OSX for Mac or else iOS 9. Even if the new version of Apple's mobile OS will not be a great change, like Android M, the new additions will improve the user experience. Here's a summary of the main new features.

A better keyboard that can turn into a trackpad

The first feature presented by Apple iOS 9 was the keyboard. Already recognized as an excellent touch keyboard, it will be even better on iOS 9. Thus, on the top bar usually used for predictions now appear to contain extra options like bold, italic, underlined etc.

Small options that are found in the word processing software now at hand. It is rather a good addition. There will be available on the same bar some shortcuts like cut, copy and paste. No need to juggle on the text to find these options.

Besides, the big news of the keyboard is the possibility, with using two fingers on the same keyboard, to turn it into a trackpad, like on Mac. This function allows you to select the text very intuitively without hiding it with your fingers or your hand. Again it is a detail but rather felt good.

Notes: much more than a notepad

Notes will not be a simple notepad. Apple felt that its note-taking tools began to be seriously outdated. Users demanded an enhancement for a long time, it will be done in the next iOS 9.

Another new feature, is offering more advanced text rendering options. We can for example structure notes in a few touches, choose title formats, subtitles etc. Layout models can also be selected before starting to write, such as a shopping list model.

It is also possible to easily insert pictures, videos and even add up content from Safari or Maps. Finally, as already seen in Galaxy Note, it will be possible to draw on Notes.

Search: Apple unveils Google Now

With the Search function improved thanks to what Apple calls Proactive, iOS 9 makes the company get closer to Google Now on Android. A new menu shows up and gives you access to multiple information: such as recent contacts, most used applications and some nearby services location as the nearest restaurant for example.

Obviously, Siri will be take part and be added to Proactive, it fits like a real wizard. It can for example retrieve information from emails, messages and act autonomously based on their content.

Best of all, Apple announced a new API that will allow developers to create applications that will be supported by Search. This opening will allow the same support to deep linking like whena user clicks on a link as when visiting Airbnb services for example, the application will open directly. And considering the trip place, information about it will appear in Search.

Transit: catching up to Maps

It's not a surprise to anyone if one says that Apple Maps is way far from catching up to the service offered by Google and other competitors like Nokia Here. On iOS 9, Apple shows a lot of new features including Transit, which is a really good idea.

If Google Maps and Consort offer a quality navigation, they do not take into account transport. With the new Transit application, Apple's service takes a new breath. Like Maps, Transit will provide a mapping of cities but including public transport with specific features. Maps is not left behind since now nearby services will be spotted on the cards. For now, some large US and Chinese cities will support Transit.

A multitasking inspired by Windows but improved

It was certainly the most anticipated news regarding iOS 9. The new version of the OS opens with the arrival of multi-tasking with multi-windows. It will be now possible on only iPad Air 2 to run multiple applications simultaneously, and sharing the screen at will. Does it remind you of anything? Windows 8 for example, or certain manufacturers' Android layers.

It will also be possible to watch a video while using another application. Video can be moved on the screen and resized at will. Again, Apple takes what is best and perfectly throw into its own system.

News: Apple's good surprise

News is the real good surprise in the new iOS 9. The Cupertino company -Apple- has submitted a new application that is nothing more than a news aggregator but completely redefines the experience of this type of applications.

Design and interface are the bottom line in News app. If the application is appealing it is primarily because of that. It feels like flipping real magazines, a bit like Flipboard, but this is even more effective. The videos and photos are perfectly integrated into the whole picture. Really impressive but this application will be available initially only in US, UK and Australia.

All these new features are only a small part of what Apple prepares. What comes in mind about this iOS 9 ? Overall, the Cupertino company took what was best around, and fed its OS to make it a warfare tool.

We find all the good ideas of Android, Windows and even some applications. In some cases, the company is catching up, in others it tries to improve with all its knowledge what already existed. After all, why not it? as long as the formula works perfectly.

THE MOST ENERGY-CONSUMING ANDROID APPLICATIONS, FACEBOOK AND SPOTIFY ON TOP OF THE LIST

Unlike the good old cell phones, smartphones often struggle to resist more than 24 hours away from the power sector. Their versatility is their asset, but unfortunately, their autonomy is still quite unsatisfying.

Given this fact, each of us acts differently to handle the matter. While some prefer to recharge their device several times throughout the day, a quick recharging in the midday break to help complete the overnight charging, others are tackling all energy-consuming applications which helped somehow emptying immediately their smartphones battery.

Although for some time now Android incorporated a tool allowing you to know what applications require mostly using the resources of your device (geolocation, background execution, etc ...), and recently published an infographic which shows us the most Android applications that are intensively resource-consuming.

This infographic, divided into two categories, clearly points to Facebook and Spotify as the most demanding applications. Spotify is very greedy, however, it does not open unless requested by the user and does not automatically execute at the launch of the smartphone, unlike Facebook. Moreover, an application running at the launch of the device consumes more resources, because we do not know of its background presence.

The rest of the list contains a wide range of popular applications, including Messenger, Instagram, BBM and Vine in the list of applications that run automatically,  in the other side Tumblr, NetFlix and Snapchat are the applications launched by the user. This shows that social networks are largely dominating among the most energy-consuming applications.

This however is not so surprising when one considers that these apps use many device resources to be fully functional and ready at every moment (geolocation, updating in the background, real-time notifications, etc ...).
